badfic-mods.livejournal.comIts Week 3 of the Avatar Plot! Yaaaaaaaay! As you might have seen in the spoiler post, our Big Bad from the spirit world will be arriving this week. Please give Koh the Face Stealer a warm welcome!
To reiterate what you might already know, Koh the Face Stealer is a demon with a huge, centipede-like body that ends in a large head. The head is surrounded by sharp mandibles or claws, and is round except for an opening that can blink like an eye. In that opening is a face. The face can change each time the "eye" opens or closes. Koh has thousands of faces, each stolen from a human or animal, or even another spirit. The only way to keep Koh from stealing YOUR face is to show absolutely no emotion when facing him. Koh speaks in a slow voice, and is generally eloquent and very polite. However, when he is speaking to you, it is usually to force you to show emotion so that he can take your face.
So. At the beginning of this week, Koh will appear in the spirit world. If you fall into the spirit world accidentally this week, you will be unable to get out until Koh is defeated by Raven; but even if you are in the spirit world, you might not meet Koh. You'll know when he's nearby: the creatures of the spirit world who lurk around Koh have no faces. This will be Monday and Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning EST, Koh will arrive in the world of Badfic, deep in the forest near the Fourth Wall. He won't be happy that the shrine is missing, but he can't make his way right to the Manor itself; he's not really meant to be in the world of mortals, so he'll keep phasing in between Badfic's world and the spirit world. One minute, he may be there, and the next, he'll have blinked away like a television being shut off. Wherever you meet him, though, you're likely to see faceless animals hanging around, first.
He'll finally be at the Manor on Friday. From there, he will attempt to break into the Manor and steal the faces of everyone he can. The Manorites have to stop him before he succeeds!
Aaand as promised, we have a list of those whose faces Koh is stealing. One for each day!
Wallace - your face will be taken on Monday in the spirit realm.
Zarbon - your face will be taken on Tuesday in the spirit realm.
Finny - your face will be taken on Wednesday either in the forest or spirit realm.
Kuja - your face will be taken on Thursday either in the forest or spirit realm.
Willy - your face will be taken on Friday either outside the Manor or spirit realm.
Soma - your face will be taken on Saturday either in the Manor or spirit realm.
Kio - your face will be taken on Sunday either in the Manor or spirit realm.
Oh, um. Yeah, tell us if that's okay for your schedule. We just sort of made the list based on the fact that I have OCD and like making random lists. :/
It's never really stated in the show how faces are taken, but we can assume that it's sorta gruesome. Not bloody, necessarily - none of the animals without faces are ever shown with scarring or blood - but probably not pretty, either. Do with that information whatever you want!
If you want your character's face to be taken and have NOT yet volunteered, just ask us here. We can double up the days.
I should also add that Koh can ONLY be killed by Raven, but that she'll need help. Everyone with a face needs to help her!
Weather this week will be cloudy. Never snowing, never sunny. Just overcast, day and night. Maybe that'll make you depressed. And then all your pretty, depressed little faces will be stolen. :|
