[Spoiler Post] Why just stop at Valentine's?
So! You may have noticed a specific date on the calendar next week...
That's right, it's Valentine's day.
And we all know the Author is a horrible romantic sap. (Emphasis on horrible.) So this week will be the Week of Love!
For starters, there's the first field trip in a while; the Manorites will find themselves in Venice! Upside: It's actually pretty warm this time of year. However, they won't be alone in their rooms.
See, the Author's decided that it being the Week of Love, people will need a little nudging. Of course, being a fangirl, her ideas may not make sense...
So, any character that opts in on this one will have a partner! If you have an idea who to set your character up with, either for shipping or just lulz and trolling them, speak up and see if the other MUN's up for it. If not, feel free to volunteer anyway – anyone without a planned set-up, will be paired off via names drawn out of a hat by the mods. Think of it as not only a good chance to traumatize/troll your characters, but also an opening for a bit of random CR. It doesn't even need to be something that'd be an actual pairing – we all know how much sense fandom pairings make sometimes...
The usual field trip hotel rooms will be shared with their partner; it can be suites and double-rooms with separate beds, or a shared bed, whatever the MUNs agree on.
On Monday evening, Valentine's proper, there will be a semi-formal ball, with everyone in evening wear; attendance is mandatory whether planned or not, and the pairs set up will be in matching costumes somehow.
After that, people will be free to explore Venice as usual, with one small caveat that there will be some IC warning about … They'll be expected to spend at least one good “date”, or something loosely defined as such, with their partner, besides the Ball. If not, they may find their lives made a little more obnoxious....
For anyone who volunteers for random draw, the blind dates will be drawn late Friday, to give some time to plot/plan.
EDIT: In the spirit of Carnivale, the ball -will- be Masquerade, in the style of the costumes you'd see for the celebration in Venice - the costumes still match, of course, and if you're truly idea-strapped, you can go normal formal/evening wear; of course, the costumes are normally masks and ornate dresses/suits.
